Hiring Project Manager ADAS in Japan
■ Project Manager ADAS
■ Company Overview

■ Your Role and Responsibilities
● Products: Handle existing projects involving front cameras, sensors, vision systems, and LiDAR while also engaging in activities to secure new projects
● Existing Projects: Software updates, system changes, and configuration modifications for products already in mass production
● New Projects: If awarded after estimation, you’ll be involved for 2–3 years depending on project scale
● PM headcount varies based on project size
● Assignments tailored to candidate’s skills; potential to oversee multiple projects
● Functional & Operational Oversight of Projects:
● Manage OEM/OES projects (components, systems using established technologies)
● Responsible for KPI achievement across profitability, quality, and production readiness
● Secure and manage project resources
● For Phase 2 (P2) projects not completed in Phase 1 (P1), drive coordination with P2 stakeholders
● Resolve project-related issues and escalations
● Check and validate team activities, suggest timing scenarios to meet milestones
● Conduct concept competitions for customer requests (RFI, RFQ), as applicable
● Define and manage own budget and portions of project/system budgets
● Define scope and prepare project team for decision-making processes in committees
● Prepare/submit CAA and IAR (project/system level); address issues with P1 PM or launch manager
● Coordinate all internal and external project changes via team
● Apply Design to Cost methodology
● Escalate gaps vs. goals appropriately, with proper speed and foresight
● Lead AAI activities and foster PTM development across the team
● Set project goals and take ownership of PTMs
■ Experience and Qualifications
● Software knowledge
● Experience as a PM (even technical sales backgrounds are accepted), or SW Engineers willing to transition to PM
● Automotive industry experience
● Business-level English
● Business-level Japanese (N2 preferred; N3 acceptable if communication is sufficient)
■ Additional Preferred Qualifications
● Strong communication skills: able to summarize conversations, catch up on unclear points, relay info to team
● Willingness to attend night meetings due to international production schedules
● Ability to work in an international environment (few Japanese members in the team)
● Resilience under pressure and assertiveness in expressing opinions
