*MUST BE IN JAPAN, WITH A WORKING VISA*

■ Job Title

Site Process / Manufacturing Engineering Manager

■ Company Overview

A leading global Tier-1 automotive supplier's specialized lighting division driving the development and manufacturing of cutting-edge automotive exterior lighting systems. The business unit leverages an international R&D and manufacturing network, integrating lighting technologies directly with ADAS and EV architectures to enhance vehicle safety and automated driving capabilities.

■ Your Role and Responsibilities

Lead the Greenfield SMT plant and production line setup for next-generation ECU and LDM boards from ground zero. Phase 1 focuses on equipment evaluation, selection, and layout design (mounters, reflow ovens, SPI, AOI) alongside SMT process development compliant with IATF 16949 and IPC-A-610 standards. Phase 2 transitions into mass production management, DFM feedback to R&D, hiring and building a dedicated SMT team, and driving post-launch yield, FPY, and OEE optimization.

■ Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of practical experience in automotive SMT processes (e.g., ECUs, power modules, inverters, sensors).
  • Proven track record of leading new SMT line bring-ups, factory setup, equipment replacements, or process optimizations.
  • Solid understanding of automotive quality management frameworks (IATF 16949, IPC-A-610 Class 3).
  • Conversational English skills for communicating with global engineering sites and overseas equipment vendors (translation tool usage acceptable).
  • Conversational Japanese communication capability.

■ Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Management experience including team building, talent development, budget control, or project leadership.
  • Business-level Japanese or English proficiency.
  • Hands-on experience with vacuum reflow systems and high-density PCB assembly processes.

■ Good Reasons to Join

  • Ground-Up Creation: Rare opportunity to design SMT production lines, select equipment, and build your own specialized manufacturing organization from scratch.
  • High-Impact Greenfield Project: Drive a key strategic initiative establishing internal electronics manufacturing capabilities for next-gen EV and autonomous vehicles.
  • Global Technical Ecosystem: Leverage best-in-class global SMT standard specifications and technical support from overseas innovation hubs.
  • Comprehensive Work Conditions: Hybrid work flexibility, corporate leased housing support, and complete social benefit packages.
