■ Job Title

In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) Embedded Software Architect / Engineer

■ Overview

This role involves architecture design and development to realize the requirements for in-vehicle infotainment systems using Android. You will determine implementation scope within the AOSP (Android Open Source Project) framework versus original application development, followed by design, coding, development, and evaluation. This position allows you to leverage your professional programming skills in a highly creative and technical environment.

Collaboration with international vendors and partners is also part of the role, requiring English communication for coordination and documentation.

■ Background

This position is with a next-generation mobility tech company creating “Mobility as a Creative Entertainment Space.” Unlike conventional vehicles focused solely on transportation, this company aims to redefine mobility through advanced system software, leveraging expertise in IoT, AI, and computer science.

The company’s infotainment systems utilize technologies such as Unreal Engine and advanced SoCs, forming an original architecture for communication and configuration between ECUs. The goal is to deliver new functions and experiences through software-defined innovation.

■ Development Environment

  • Configuration Management: Git (Gerrit), SVN
  • Languages: Java, Kotlin, C/C++, Python
  • OS: POSIX-compliant (Linux, QNX)
  • Tools: JIRA, Confluence, Teams, Slack

■ Team Structure

The department consists of about 40 members and collaborates with multiple domestic and international vendors. The teams are compact, offering engineers wide-ranging responsibilities and opportunities to contribute across design and implementation stages.

■ Requirements

Must-Have Skills

  • 3+ years of software development experience (mobility experience not required)
  • Software development on POSIX-compliant OS (Linux, QNX, etc.)
  • Experience in large-scale software development
  • Application framework and/or application development experience (Android preferred)
  • Ability to read and write English documentation (conversational ability preferred)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in global or cross-border software projects
  • Requirements management experience
  • Proficiency in Android Framework and Android TV/smartphone development
  • Experience developing on cutting-edge SoCs

■ Language Requirements

English: Business level (document reading/writing required)
Japanese: JLPT N2 level or above

■ Ideal Candidate

A proactive engineer with strong coding skills and a deep curiosity for new technologies. Someone who can take ownership of tasks, think beyond their scope, and contribute to building innovative infotainment experiences.

■ Career Benefits

  • Development experience in Android Automotive
  • Hands-on involvement in Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) innovation
  • Opportunity to collaborate with international teams
  • Exposure to advanced SoC-based infotainment systems
  • Experience in building software for products that reach end users
