Mechanical Design Engineer – Hybrid Powertrain Components (Future Leader Track)
■ Company Overview
Our client is a major engineering supplier supporting production technology development for leading automotive OEMs in Japan. The company promotes long-term innovation through advanced hybrid systems and cross-functional engineering teamwork.
■ Your Role and Responsibilities
Work on upstream and downstream development of hybrid drivetrain components from design to evaluation, while managing cross-functional project activities.
- 2D drafting and 3D modeling using CATIA V5
- Design reviews and mechanical planning
- Engineering analysis (CAE)
- Verification and evaluation of mechanical performance
- Negotiation and coordination with internal departments and suppliers
- Document/report creation
- Identifying and solving technical challenges throughout the project
■ Experience and Qualifications
- 3+ years in design or manufacturing of automotive components (5+ years if from mold or jig background)
- 2D/3D CAD skills (CATIA V5 required)
- Basic technical drawing knowledge
- Fluency in Japanese (JLPT N1 or equivalent), with at least 3 years’ experience working in Japan

- Experience with CAE analysis

■ Salary
¥6M–¥8.5M annually
Monthly salary: ¥370,000–¥540,000 (including fixed allowances)
Bonuses twice a year (Aug/Dec), salary review annually in June
■ Contract Term
Full-time, permanent employee (3-month probation with no change in conditions)
■ Working Conditions
- Working hours: 9:00–18:00 (1-hour break)
- Flexible hours available; typical overtime 30–40 hours/month (paid per minute)
- Annual leave: 121 days, weekends off, and long holidays in summer, year-end, and Golden Week
- 10 paid vacation days granted after 6 months
