Lead Data Scientist
(Tokyo)
■ Your Role and Responsibilities
- Identify and solve advanced analytic problems. Develop and apply appropriate algorithms, models and techniques in diverse technology domains: causal inference, natural language processing, computer vision, location analysis, time series analytics, etc.
- Research and develop new emerging technologies, and quickly prototype solutions applying most recent mathematical modeling, algorithms and techniques.
- Conduct end-to-end analyses, including requirements specification, data gathering, processing, analysis, and lead presentations to management stakeholders.
- Lead Data Science projects and contribute to the development of team members. These include performing code review, leading seminars, attending international conferences.

■ Experience and Qualifications
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field like math, computer science, statistics, operations research, engineering or econometrics.
- 5 years of continuous practical experience in at least two of the following areas: natural language processing, computer vision, statistics, causal inference, data mining, optimization, reinforcement learning.
- 5 years of continuous hands-on experience in Python, and experience in processing large dataset on cloud and databases.
- Experience in coaching 5 or more team members.
- Experience working with programming methodologies such as version control, testing, QA, collaborative software development methods (Eg., pull-requests, code review, shared coding standards).
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts to the management and other stakeholders.

■ Additional Preferred Qualifications
- 5 years of continuous hands-on experience in natural language processing domain
- Practical experience in developing solutions using large language models
- Experience working in a consulting company and delivering engagements directly to clients and external stakeholders.
- Expert ability to rapidly ingest, transform, engineer, and visualize data developing quick prototypes
- Be passionate about discovering and applying new technologies, ideas and unique solutions to complex and transformational business problems
- Be creative, yet disciplined in their approach and constantly engaged in learning new skills to support the transformation agenda
- Have a high level of discipline and a structured approach for documenting and managing one’s own work
- Be a self-motivator and possess the communication skills and character to constantly engage with a fast-paced, always changing team
