Career Opportunity: (ISO) Japan Security Engineering Lead in Japan | Tokyo (Hybrid) !

■ Japan Security Engineering Lead (English Fluent | Japanese Intermediate Preferred)

This is a high-impact leadership role where you will drive security engineering initiatives across both on-premise and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).

You will act as a key technical expert, leading security strategy, managing advanced security tools, and ensuring robust protection of enterprise systems and data across Japan and APAC regions.

 

■ Your Role and Responsibilities 

● Drive security engineering efforts across the organization’s Security Stack (Crowdstrike, Tanium, Qualys, Imperva DAM/DAS, Microsoft Purview/Defender, ProofPoint, Trend Micro, Varonis, SafeBreach, Agari DMARC, Prisma, Wiz)

● Secure both enterprise-level on-premise and cloud environments

● Work across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models to ensure comprehensive security coverage

● Manage security across multiple cloud platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure (Azure)

● Apply strong expertise in on-premise and cloud security architectures

● Drive vulnerability management and network defense strategies

● Protect enterprise cloud workloads and data across cloud and hybrid environments

● Act as a key technical expert for the Information Security Organization and related teams

● Provide security support and guidance across Japan and APAC regions

● Lead deployment and management of enterprise security tools across cloud and on-prem systems

● Act as a trusted advisor on security risks, architecture, and best practices

● Collaborate with global security, infrastructure, and application teams

● Drive implementation of cloud security policies, standards, and controls

● Monitor and mitigate security risks across enterprise environments

● Mentor team members and support security awareness across teams  

 

■ Experience and Qualifications

● Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or related field
● Fluent English and intermediate Japanese (for communication with local teams)
● 12+ years of experience in on-premise and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
● 3+ years in leadership / team management roles
● 8+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security posture management, DevOps security, and IaC-based automation

Technical Expertise:
● Strong understanding of cloud & hybrid environments (IaaS / PaaS / SaaS / IDaaS)
● Experience securing Kubernetes (AKS, EKS, GKS), Azure Functions, and cloud-native workloads
● Knowledge of vulnerability management, threat detection, and exploitation techniques
● Expertise in infrastructure hardening (Windows & Linux), Active Directory, and OS security
● Strong understanding of networking (TCP/IP, HTTP), endpoint security, and incident response
● Experience with SIEM tools and integrations (CrowdStrike preferred)
● Familiarity with API security, virtualization, and cloud services

Security Standards & Tools:
● Knowledge of security frameworks like NIST, CIS Benchmarks, DISA STIG
● Familiarity with ISO 27001/27002, PCI DSS, SOX
● Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Python, Linux shell)
● Certifications like CISSP, CCSP, Security+ or cloud certifications are a plus
