Database Administrator (DBA)

An award-winning space technology company founded in 2008 with a mission to make space more accessible. The company develops and operates its own constellation of micro-satellites for an Earth observation service and provides comprehensive, one-stop satellite development and operation services for its clients.
■ Your Role and Responsibilities
(Upon Employment)You will be responsible for managing and continuously improving the critical database infrastructure that supports the ground systems for multiple satellite constellations. Your key duties will involve database administration and optimization, developing automation and monitoring tools, contributing to system architecture, and collaborating closely with engineering and cloud teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.

■ Experience and Qualifications
- Over 3 years of experience in a DBA or a similar position.
- Proficiency in various database technologies including relational, time-series, and NoSQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB, MongoDB).
- Strong command of SQL, with experience in query optimization and schema design.
- Familiarity with ORM frameworks and data modeling tools.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing, and observability tools like Grafana or Prometheus.
- Scripting and automation skills in a language such as Python or Go.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to solving problems.
■ Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience focused on database reliability, automation, and performance tuning.
- Proven ability to build tools for database observability and testing.
- Hands-on experience managing production and development environments in AWS.
- Some Japanese language ability for technical discussions.
