Career Opportunity for a Backend Engineer in Japan!

 

■ Backend Engineer

An e-commerce, fintech, digital content and communications company with more than 30,000 employees, and operations in 30 countries and regions.

 

■ Your Role and Responsibilities
● Handle the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, programming, testing, and deployment.

● Collaborate closely with Product Managers, internal teams, and upstream/downstream system stakeholders.

● Monitor and optimize system stability and performance, design and maintain system architectures, and perform refactoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvements.

 

 

 

■ Experience and Qualifications
● Over 5 years of experience in Java development using frameworks such as Spring and Play, with strong knowledge of design patterns and RESTful/GraphQL API development.
● Hands-on experience in unit testing with JUnit, frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and relational databases (3+ years with RDBMS).
● Skilled in version control tools (Git, SVN), web servers (Apache, Nginx), and Unix/Linux environments (1+ year).

 

 

■ Additional Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with containerization and orchestration platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.

● Background in working with caching and NoSQL technologies like Redis, Kafka, MQ, and Memcache.

● Proficient in CI/CD and DevOps practices using tools including Jenkins and CircleCI.
