Software Backend Engineer – Mission Control

Our client specializes in developing and operating synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellites, capable of capturing high-resolution Earth images regardless of weather or time of day. It provides solutions for infrastructure monitoring, disaster management, and urban planning by integrating satellite data with advanced analysis. ■ Your Role and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for developing and operating the satellite mission control system, which monitors and analyzes satellite status and transmits control commands. This involves collaboration with internal teams, including satellite development, operations, and ground testing.

■ Experience and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Proficiency in NodeJS or TypeScript is essential (C, C++, Rust also welcome as additional language experience)
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with users and refine system specifications
  • Able to work in our Tokyo headquarters at least 2–3 days per week
  • Passion for space development

 

■ Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of TCP/IP and socket programming
  • Experience in satellite control system development
  • Project management experience in teams of 5+ people
  • Business-level Japanese (JLPT N1) is a plus... If  you do not speak any Japanese right now, you should be willing to learn
