Position Overview:
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and operating scalable data
pipelines and data platforms that enable reliable analytics, reporting, and data-driven
decision making across the enterprise. The role focuses on ensuring data availability, quality,
and performance while supporting modern cloud-based data architectures and enterprise-
wide data initiatives.
Responsibilities
Main responsibilities include:
• Design, develop, and operate robust data pipelines for structured and semi-
structured data
• Build and maintain enterprise data platforms (data lake, data warehouse, analytics
layers)
• Ensure data quality, consistency, lineage, and availability across source and
consumption layers
• Optimize data processing performance, cost efficiency, and reliability
• Collaborate with business and analytics teams to translate data requirements into
scalable solutions
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for data pipelines and data platforms
• Support data governance, security, and compliance requirements in collaboration
with relevant teams
• Contribute to standardization, documentation, and best practices for data engineering
• Reduce reliance on manual data handling and ad-hoc solutions through automation
and reuse.
Mandatory Requirements:
Education:
✓ Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience/Skill:
✓ 5+ years of experience in data engineering or enterprise data platform roles
✓ Strong experience designing and implementing data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
✓ Experience with cloud-based data platforms and services (e.g. Azure, AWS, or GCP)
✓ Solid knowledge of SQL and data modeling concepts for analytics and reporting
✓ Experience working with large-scale enterprise data environments
✓ Familiarity with data platform operations, monitoring, and cost management

Preferred / Nice-to-have Requirements:
✓ Experience with Azure data services (e.g. Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, Fabric)
✓ Experience with SAP Integration Suite
✓ Knowledge of streaming or near–real-time data processing
✓ Experience supporting BI and analytics tools (e.g. Power BI)
✓ Exposure to data governance, master data management, or data quality frameworks
