■ Research Engineer / Research Scientist (Deep Research / Information Retrieval)

Japan-based AI technology company developing advanced large-scale language models and next-generation AI platforms, focused on delivering innovative AI-driven products and competing with leading global AI players.

■ Your Role and Responsibilities 

● Develop and evaluate in-house Deep Research systems.

● Perform data synthesis and reinforcement learning for Deep Research.

● Train text embedding models and re-ranking models.

● Train foundational models specifically for retrieval.

● Construct data and search infrastructure for R&D.

● Prototype AI products and LLM agents using information retrieval technologies.

■ Experience and Qualifications

● Expertise in at least one of the following: search systems, recommendation systems, embedding representations, or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

● Experience in team-based development using software platforms like GitHub.

● Experience reading academic papers and either reproducing implementations or modifying algorithms.

■ Additional Preferred Qualifications

● 3+ years of development experience in Natural Language Processing (NLP), Information Retrieval, or Recommendation systems.

● Medal-winning experience in data science competitions such as Kaggle.

● 3+ years of experience developing or operating large-scale search or recommendation systems.

● Experience developing machine learning models using multiple GPUs.

● Experience presenting at international conferences.

● Experience fine-tuning local LLMs or text embedding models.

● Contributions to Open Source Software (OSS).

● Experience in project management or serving as a Tech Lead.
