Career Opportunity for a Full-Stack Application Developer in Japan!

■ Full-Stack Application Developer

■ Company Overview

A leading Japan-headquartered global financial services organization with a strong presence across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. The company is known for its long-standing market reputation and is currently investing heavily in technology modernization, cloud platforms, and backend engineering to support mission-critical global systems.

■ Your Role and Responsibilities 

● Interfacing with stakeholders business requirements and documenting them on a timely basis.

● Design and develop system architecture, and Constructing and maintaining the CI/CD pipeline.

● Plan and manage testing of system implementations by acting as accountable owner for managing test cases and representing the team for test cycle reviews such as for SIT/E2E/UAT.

● Collaboration with partner technology departments such as front and middle office, settlement systems, reference data, infrastructure, and other core IT counterparties.

● As a development lead, apply project management duties to ensure project delivery as per program schedules; determining and reporting delivery milestones

● Full hands on coding abilities and act as gatekeeper in code reviews.

■ Experience and Qualifications

● Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

● Native-level Japanese proficiency, with a willingness to acquire business-level English proficiency (currently holding a TOEIC score of 600 or above), or

● Native-level English proficiency, with a willingness to acquire business-level Japanese proficiency (currently holding JLPT N3 or above)

● Minimum of 3 years’ experience in general purpose programming languages in Linux.

● Strong understanding of the Java Open Source Application Framework (like Spring framework).

● Solid experience and understanding of DevOps tools like GIT, Jenkins, SonarQube, etc.

● Strong oral and written communications to both technical and non-technical audiences

● A strong motivation to proactively and continuously learn new technologies, such as generative AI and cloud-native technologies

■ Additional Preferred Qualifications

● More than 3 years of industry experience in hands-on development within the securities trading environment with solid understanding of the trade lifecycle for products such as equities, fixed income, and derivatives.

● Understanding or experience in cloud native technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

● Experience in development utilizing generative AI.

● Ability in database/stored procedure design and management

● JSDA (Japan Securities Dealers Association) Sales Representative Qualification

● ICM (Internal Control Manager)
