■ Your Role and Responsibilities 

  • Design, implement, test, and validate algorithms used in the Attitude and Orbit Control System (AOCS) of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellites, including tasks such as sensor data filtering, orbit and attitude estimation, attitude control, reaction wheel and magnetorquer management, operational mode control, and failsafe mechanisms.

  • Collaborate closely with embedded software engineers to integrate the AOCS with the rest of the flight software.

  • Validate designs through unit testing, Model In the Loop Simulation (MILS), Hardware In the Loop Simulation (HILS), and physical satellite testing.

  • Support the testing and validation of AOCS components during the satellite Assembly, Integration, and Testing (AIT) process.

  • Model sensors, actuators, and other physical components using MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape and fit component models using test data.

  • Participate in the launch campaign: prepare necessary items for launch operations, monitor behavior during critical phases, and provide technical support to the satellite operations team.

  • Engage in weekly meetings and design reviews.

 

■ Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Robotics Engineering. Equivalent combinations of relevant education and/or experience will also be considered.

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in the design and validation of control systems, preferably on autonomous systems (e.g., satellites, launch vehicles, drones, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), self-driving cars, robots).

  • Thorough understanding of multibody dynamics, including coordinate transformation between reference frames, kinematics, conservation of energy, and momentum.

  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink.

  • Experience working with physical sensors and actuators.

  • Willingness to travel to other offices for business several times a year.
