Career Opportunity for a QA Engineer in Japan!

 

■ QA Engineer (Test Automation)

■ Your Role and Responsibilities 

● Define QA standards, release criteria, and quality metrics.

● Design, build, and maintain scalable E2E automated test frameworks (e.g., Playwright) (80–90% of the role involves building automation).

● Validate trading logic: execution paths, price impact, fee calculations, and thousands of user paths (Strium).

● Modernize, optimize, and expand existing E2E testing infrastructure.

● API testing: verify consistency between backend responses and frontend behavior.

● API load and stress testing designed for high-throughput environments.

● Design reproducible test environments and test data.

● Collaborate with engineering and product teams to define "testable acceptance criteria."

 

■ Experience and Qualifications

● Candidates must have at least 5 years of professional experience and advanced English proficiency, and meet at least three of the following criteria (English is the company's official language):

● At least 5 years of QA experience with web, mobile, financial systems, or Fintech products, including at least 2 years of test automation experience.

● Proven track record of building E2E test frameworks (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Selenium) from scratch.

● Ability to write test automation code (this is a coding-intensive QA role; JavaScript/TypeScript is ideal, but Java/Python are also acceptable. Since the existing E2E infrastructure and frontend are built using JS/TS, you will be expected to get up to speed on these after joining).

● Experience testing complex Fintech or financial products, having navigated both technical complexities (e.g., transaction integrity, asynchronous processing) and organizational complexities (e.g., development involving multiple teams and stakeholders).

● Experience designing highly maintainable automated test suites integrated into CI pipelines.

● Ability to work autonomously as the sole QA professional for a product or team.  Ability to proactively clarify requirements across teams, even when specifications are ambiguous

● Experience taking ownership of defining quality standards and test strategies, and driving the team to implement them (organization size is not a factor; the role requires building systems/processes rather than simply executing pre-defined tests)

● English proficiency beyond a conversational level (English is the official company language; native-level fluency is not required)

● Curiosity and a drive to quickly learn and assimilate knowledge in unfamiliar domains (prior blockchain experience is not required)

 

■ Additional Preferred Qualifications

● Experience with E2E automation for exchanges, securities, or financial systems

● Knowledge of blockchain, smart contracts, and on-chain transactions

● Practical experience with load testing tools (e.g., k6, Artillery)

● Experience using AI tools for test generation and test operations

● Understanding of trading concepts (slippage, liquidity, execution flow)
