■ Your Role and Responsibilities
The Application Manager is responsible for ensuring stable operation, maintenance, and governance of business-critical applications.
You will work closely with business teams, IT stakeholders, and global support teams to ensure applications run efficiently while driving continuous improvement and vendor coordination.
● Ensure stable operation and maintenance of business applications in Japan
●Manage application health through security updates, governance compliance, and documentation updates
●Lead vendors for BAU activities including enhancements, issue management, and change management
●Collaborate with business and IT teams to prioritize and manage BAU workloads
● Manage vendor contracts, licenses, and service delivery performance
● Support adoption of new technologies and business applications
● Work across global teams and stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment
■ Experience and Qualifications
●University degree or specialized education
●Business-level Japanese proficiency, basic English skills
●5+ years of experience in application support, maintenance, or production operations
● 5+ years of experience across full SDLC (requirements, design, development, testing, release)
● Experience in open-source application operations and maintenance
● Knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking basics
● Experience with Java, APIs, Angular, JSP, AWS (preferred)
● Experience with SaaS platforms like Salesforce (preferred)
● Experience in insurance or financial services industry (preferred)
● Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
● Proactive mindset with strong ownership and adaptability
● Strong application support and operational understanding
● Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and vendors
● Strong problem-solving and multitasking ability
● Excellent communication (written and verbal)
● Ability to work independently and drive execution
● Flexibility to work in a fast-changing environment
