■ Your Role and Responsibilities
● Lead the full product lifecycle for complex initiatives—from ideation and requirements gathering to development, launch, and post-launch optimization.
● Translate business requirements and user needs into detailed Product Requirement Documents (PRDs), user stories, flows, and acceptance criteria.
● Define the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader company goals.
● Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, data, marketing, legal, compliance, and operations teams to drive successful delivery and adoption.
●Manage project timelines, prioritize features, and make trade-off decisions to ensure high-quality, timely releases.
● Monitor product performance using KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
● Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and gather customer feedback to inform decision-making.
● Communicate product updates and results clearly to stakeholders, including senior leadership.
● Build deep domain knowledge in credit cards, payment processing, relevant Japanese regulations, and internal systems, leveraging documentation in both English and Japanese.
■ Experience and Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or 3+ years of technical experience
● Over 5 years of experience in product management, with a proven track record of delivering complex products
● Successful in launching and iterating products in fast-paced, dynamic environments
● Strong collaboration with engineering teams and hands-on experience with agile development methodologies
● Excellent analytical skills; proficient in defining KPIs, interpreting data, and making data-driven decisions
● Skilled in managing multiple priorities and engaging diverse stakeholders
● Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese (written and verbal)
■ Additional Preferred Qualifications
● Strong understanding of credit card processing (issuing/acquiring), lending products, and risk management, including fraud, credit, and compliance
●Experience leading regulatory compliance initiatives such as AML/CFT and network mandates
●Skilled in working with fraud detection and risk management systems
●Proven track record in system modernization and cloud migration projects
●Experienced in managing technical integrations with external vendors
●Familiarity with the Japanese market and local payment systems/regulations
●Hands-on experience with AI/ML applications in financial services, including chatbots, fraud detection, and LLMs using RAG techniques
